Hat Yai, Thailand

Although I've been to Hat Yai a few times, this is the first time I've visited

the Hat Yai floating market.  The event is held every Friday, Saturday and Sunday

only from 5.00pm to 9.00pm.  This is a must see attraction with food, etc. sold on water and land.  Above the canal there are many more stalls attracting lots of visitors, locals and tourists.

Temples in Chiang Mai, Thailand

Chiang Mai has lots of temples (wat), more than 300.  Many are within town and walking distance.  Some are a few hundred years old.  During my recent visit to Chiang Mai, it was hot with very bright sunlight.  This makes it difficult to photograph especially when most temples are painted gold and have gold pillars, carvings, etc.  The brightness and reflection is a headache.

Elephant - Chiang Mai

Elephant ride is very popular in Chiang Mai, Thailand.  All tours will include elephant ride and elephant show (drawing & play football).

This elephant is asking for food.  I took this shot from it's top.  Inset photo shows it all.

When the elephant is not working it is allowed to roam in the wild.

Long Neck Tribe, Chiang Mai, Thailand

I had a great 10 days in Chiang Mai.  Although Thailand is struggling with rain and flood, Chiang Mai is hot and dry during our stay from 7th October to 17th October, 2011.  The following photos were taken during our visit to the long neck tribe village.
